Are you ready to pitch?

You're a student. You came up with a great business idea. You've been working on your idea--in between classes, after your job, with a little bit of money. You believe in your idea, but some extra cash could really help to validate, grow and implement it.

Here's your opportunity to get the money you need along with expert guidance, feedback, entrepreneurial education and support.

The Eastern Women's Entrepreneurship Center is hosting the IceHouse Program in conjunction with Elizabeth City State University. This immersive education process challenges entrepreneurs to enhance their mindset while learning practical skills to use towards developing their business idea.  At the conclusion of the program, we are hosting a pitch competition with a $500 top prize to award to the campus-based business with the best pitch and application of the IceHouse curriculum.

  • This opportunity is only open to students currently enrolled (at any level) at Elizabeth City State University

  • Preference is given to students who participate in all of the sessions of the IceHouse program; however any student is allowed to register for the pitch competition

  • You do not have to currently be "in business" to pitch; you may pitch an idea or project. However, you will still be expected to know pertinent information about your industry, your customer, the problem that you solve and other valuable insight

  • The prizes are awarded based on the participants ability to articulate their vision, answer questions from the judges and create excitement around their idea

  • The winners will not have to give up equity (ownership) or provide an equity injection (down payment) to receive prize money

  • You must register for the pitch competition no later than Friday October 18, 2019 at 5pm.
